Living Control have just released the very first full HD CD/DVD server to compliment their expanding range, The class leading Studio6 MediaServer brings the power of the MusicBox server platform to HD video. | | In the world before central heating, every room had its own fire. Today, this sounds positively medieval, yet we manage our home entertainment exactly in the same way.
To listen to music in the kitchen, we plug in a hi-fi or radio… in the kitchen. To watch a DVD in the living room, we rely on the system in the living room. To wake up to our favourite morning show, we need another radio in the bedroom. And for music on the patio, we drag yet another system outside, or open the nearest window. Crazy isn’t it?
Studio3
Based on the same ultra-stable Linux platform as the class-leading Studio6 MediaServer, Living Control's Studio3 brings a new level of capability, quality and relaibility to the specialised entertainment server market. Priced at around £5k and supporting a wide ranging selection of video and audio formats, the Studio3 will provide via HDMI a single stream of any unencrypted video, from YouTube to Full HD (1080p), in addition to a pair of independent audio-only outputs for music (up to 24bit/192kHz resolution) - all selectable in the usual Living Control fashion from exceptionally easy-to-use wall keypads. Capacity and video outputs can be further expanded if necessary.
The Studio3 MediaServer is future-proof as well, with updates enabling a choice of the latest generation of Full HD optical storage for Blu-ray or other future HD optical formats. Gigabit networking enables the streaming of video and music across the network, as well as importing video and music from external sources
